I know about the lack of sleep and how your life can be miserable when your brain no longer has an “off switch” and you are struggling to get the sleep you so desperately need.

Lying asleep in bed staring at the ceiling getting more and more frustrated.  Feeling all this anger and resentment towards your husband because he is sleeping and snoring (or even just breathing).  You just wish you could finally close your eyes and fall into a deep blissful sleep … but again, you just keep staring at the walls and listening to everyone else in your house sleep.

Life is miserable when no one around you can understand what that feels like.  I tried it all, the bedtime bath with epsom salt, sleepy time tea, lavender essential oil, etc…  None of it worked. I finally gave in and got some prescription sleeping pills from my doctor.

But in April of 2017, I hit my “rock bottom”.  Even with the sleeping pills I could no longer sleep. Every part of my body was shaking and I felt hopeless to ever find sleep again naturally.  I couldn’t go to work or take care of my family. That is when my doctor decided it was time for me to stop working and start taking care of me.

It wasn’t long after that I discovered EFT (also known as tapping) and started using it for myself.  I will always remember the day I fell asleep on the couch without the aid of a sleeping pill. It was better than winning a million dollars.

What I’ve discovered in the last few years since is that the everyday stress we carry can affect our sleep greatly.  I had no medical issues that caused my lack of sleep (important to check with your doctor on this). I could not sleep because I could not shut my brain off.  I was on constant alert.

There are 5 areas in our lives where we can feel stressed or overwhelmed, which are family, health, work, money or spirituality.  My lack of sleep started with the stress from my work and then carried over to my family. Once I addressed the emotions using EFT, I was able to discontinue the sleeping pills and find sleep again naturally.

My mission in life is now to educate others on how to use this technique so they can also find sleep again.  Or better yet, start using it to regain balance in their lives before their sleep is affected so greatly.
